Oregon Visit

I will be visiting Newport in a week for a fall exhibit at the Roger Yost Bay Street Gallery on the Bayfront. I will be premiering my newest painting “Coming Home” along with several others. I’m really excited for this exhibit and to be back in Newport. It’s always great to be home and such a world of difference from Hawaii. I love the balmy climate on the Oregon coast this time of year. The air is crisp & cool and smells of salt water & coastal pine.

Aside from painting, one of my favorite activities is jogging. I run everyday, except for Sundays. That’s my day off and I let my legs rest. I love to run trails and as you can imagine, the Oregon coast has a lot of trails. Many of which end, very much as the picture above looks. I can hear the roaring waves and wind already. I will often sit in this spot for a bit after and run and just take in all the beauty around. It really is breathtaking.

It’s been a whirlwind last few weeks and I’m looking forward to getting out and about and enjoying nature. I’ll post more about my Fall exhibit soon, but for now I will just think about this little nook and try and picture myself there.
